Overview
The Asset-Map Report page isn't just a dashboard; it’s your primary workspace for the What and Where of the planning conversation. It is designed to help you and your client visualize every financial decision they have made, where those financials live, and discuss what purpose they serve. Use this page to build clarity, identify gaps, and transition into other very important conversations ("IF" and "WHEN").
The Asset-Map page of the Household is the premier workspace and a conversation tool in Asset-Map Platform. Below is a catalog of features that will help you create, edit and educate a client using their Asset-Map report.
Conversation Flow
1. The "Who" - Discuss the Relationships
Conversation Goal: Ensure we are talking about the right people and entities.
Customizing the View: Use the Members Bar to toggle individuals or entities on and off.
The Conversation: "Let’s focus just on your assets for a moment," or "Let’s look at how your business entity interacts with your personal holdings."
The Sidebar: Think of this as your "Meeting Agenda." While you are on the Asset-Map (WHAT/WHERE), you can quickly pivot to Signals (IF) or Target-Maps (WHEN) as the client’s questions evolve.
2. Organizing Financial Decisions
Conversation Goal: Grouping "like with like" to see the big picture.
Color-Coded Clarity: Tiles are automatically grouped and colored (Red for Retirement, Green for Non-Retirement, etc.). The legend is at the bottom of the map.
The Conversation: "Let's examine your future taxed assets (retirement assets - red)." "Let's examine your liquidity or your presently taxed assets." "What cash flows do you have and what protections are in place?"
Automatic Totals: Sums are displayed near the avatars. Use these to validate the scale of their current situation without digging into spreadsheets.
3. Real-Time Collaboration (Sidebar)
Conversation Goal: Capturing ideas as they happen so the client feels heard.
The Sidebar: Use the Sidebar to edit data without losing sight of the map.
The Conversation: "You mentioned a new life insurance policy. Let's add that right now so we can see how it changes the picture." "What things matter most to you right now? Let's prioritize them and keep them in focus."
Stencils: Apply a Stencil to show the client "what's missing."
The Conversation: "Most families in your position also have [X]. We don't see that here—is that a decision you've already made, or something we should explore?"
Draw & Highlight (Marker Tool): Use the Marker (
CTRL + M) to circle specific areas of the map during a remote or in-person meeting to maintain focus.
4. Professional Presentation (Top Border Tools)
Conversation Goal: Removing distractions to focus on the human element.
Presentation Mode: Click the "TV" icon in the upper right area to hide menus and unneeded icons.
Pro Tip: Enter Presentation Mode before sharing your screen. It signals to the client that this time is dedicated entirely to their story, not your software.
Privacy Screen: Use this if you are in a public space or desire to blur the map prior to your meeting.
