Overview
The names and entities listed at the top of an Asset-Map are a key feature of the Asset-Map webpage. These name tags are interactive, allowing you to toggle the visibility of the avatars and their financials in the center of the page. Utilize this tool to steer your financial planning discussions by concentrating on particular individuals, entities, or multiple members. Clicking on the name tags will add or remove members and their financial details from the current view of the map.
Swapping the visibility of members is setting up a new view, or Layout. You can save Layouts. Here is a helpful resource about ππΌ Layouts.
Impact of Using the Member Bar
Default view: Primary and Spouse are Selected
When a household has a "primary" and a "spouse" or "partner", the default view is to include the primary member and spouse/partner and their financials on the page. The financials are arranged in preset regions around the avatars and cannot be changed. Similar financials can be reordered within a region. Learn more about how to rearrange the order of financials ππΌhere. Joint assets and liabilities will be presented below the avatars. An unearned cash flow designated as joint between the two individuals will produce two cash flow tiles whose dollar values are split out to each member by the percentage you designate. A "JT" on the tile designates that the unearned cash flow dollar value is jointly split.
How to Designate a Financial as Joint
When two or more interested members are selected on a financial's edit/information window, the "joint" box option is made available. Check the box and designate percentages as desired. Unchecking the box will create two tiles with the displayed percentage split. Removing one of the interested members will create a single tile for the desired value.
One member view
When a single member is selected (by toggling the name tags either on or off) the member avatar and financials is displayed on the webpage. Joint financials shared with others (currently not in view) will display "JT" in the tile with the full value displayed. The tiles are arranged around the avatar in preset positions. Those regions cannot be changed. However similar financials can be reordered within a region. Learn more about how to rearrange the order of financials ππΌhere.
Two members other than primary/spouse
When two members are in view, their avatars and financials are displayed in the layout. Their financials are displayed in specific regions. Jointly held financials will be shown below the avatars. Jointly owned unearned cash flows will be split by percentage. A "JT" will be displayed where appropriate designating jointly owned.
More than two members
When more than two members are selected, the avatar changes to a building icon with the quantity of members and entities listed. The financials of the selected members are consolidated on the page. Financials are grouped in regions according to their type. Joint financials display "JT" within the tile.
"All" Members
All members and financials are consolidated onto the page when "All" is clicked at the top of an Asset-Map. A building avatar represents all of the members in the middle of the page. Financials are grouped in regions according to their type. Joint financials display "JT" within the tile.
No Members Display
Turning off all avatars will clear the map of all financials except unassigned ones. A building avatar replaces the members icons.
