There are important features embedded within Asset-Map Platform that could help Financial Professionals engage with a client experiencing a divorce situation.

Asset-Map Report Page

  • The names of the Members and Entities listed at the top of an Asset-Map are clickable buttons which turn on or off their avatar in the middle of the screen. If a spouse parts ways with the other, try turning off their avatar by clicking their button leaving the financials associated with the remaining member.

  • If you need to save (or print) the new view, use our Layouts tool to create an optionally printable Asset-Map with the rearranged avatars. πŸ”—Layouts

  • If other parties are involved with the household financials, like business partners, add them to the map using the Add Member tool. πŸ”—Add Member

  • If a trust is involved in the household, we provide the ability to apply trusts to the map by using the Add Entity tool. Show ownership of assets on the legal entity to display those assets that could be locked away for their children to protect from creditors and predators. πŸ”—Add Entity

  • If you're engaging in a remote meeting or displaying the Asset-Map on a screen, use our Marker tool to check/mark/question/circle the items you are concerned with and want to talk about. πŸ”—Marker

Notes

  • Use the Notes tab found on all financial, member, and entity edit windows to make important notes about each, such as tax implications or future plans for that item. They will be displayed on the Notes page of the household and are optionally printable from the Reports page. πŸ”—Notes

Target-Map Page

  • We provide a means to run Retirement Target-Maps for individual members instead of couples, using just their own retirement assets. πŸ”—Retirement Target-Map

  • Run Loss of Life scenarios to show the impact of assets and incomes that are no longer part of the household for the individual. πŸ”—Loss of Life

  • Use Target-Map Notes to jot down important ideas. They will be displayed on the Notes page of the household and are optionally printable from the Reports page.

Balance Sheet Page

  • Asset-Map Platform provides a household Balance Sheet page. Using the buttons at the top of the page one can adjust whom to view the balance sheet of.

Beneficiary Page

  • What are the implications for the beneficiaries designated on each asset?

Ask Questions

  • By displaying the financial situation of the household on the Asset-Map, the Financial Professional can ask questions relevant to the financials and the intent of the financials that are on the map.

  • Those questions may vary depending on the laws of your state. Asset ownership and tax implications are important considerations.
