Overview and Tips
There is currently no manual shortcut to creating a duplicate/copy/clone Household and Asset-Map. The procedure below outlines the steps to take to make a copy of a household.
The questions to answer before taking these steps is:
- What's the purpose of doing this?
- Is it merging two households?
- Is it showing a before/after snapshot to the client? If so, maybe using our Hide/Unhide feature is the better method.
- Is it for historical record?
If you're looking for information about how to make a copy of a map you've got choices. Depending on your reason, please review the resources below: 👇

Create a New Household
Below are steps to create a new Household with the same Financials:
- Open the household from the Household Index to view their summary page.
- Click "Edit" next to household name.
- Change the Status from Client, Prospect or Sample to STENCIL. Click "Save Household".

- Click Add Household button
- Once created, Apply a Stencil from the Actions menu. The Actions menu can be found by clicking the colored "plus" icon at the top of the household menu.

- Search for the first household name in your My Stencils library.
- Select it and click Apply Stencil.
- The tiles applied will be grey place holders that you can edit, save or delete as needed.
- Remember to change the original household status from "stencil" back to "client".
