⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

⭐ Try this: An example introduction email from advisor to client explaining the reason for completing Discovery

(Please adopt this text as you see fit and ensure any compliance requirements are met.)

Hi [prospect name],

I am using a tool that provides a visual representation of your financial decisions. It will become our ongoing meeting agenda with which we can discuss your situation and options.

This shouldn't take you more than 10-15 minutes. Please use round numbers and rough estimates. I just want to get a foundation for your household's current situation. During our meeting, we'll build onto this foundation together and have a comprehensive visualization on one page. You can use the navigation buttons at the bottom of each page to add, remove or correct your entries, but please remember that there is a 14-day security timeout afterwhich the interview is closed.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions. I've attached a sample household to this email so you know what we are aiming for.

I will be notified when you complete your survey and I'll reach out to you to finalize your best date and time for a meeting. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

At your service,

[Financial professional]

⭐ Try this: Redirect to appointment calendar

Set the redirect URL to your Calendly link (or other preferred appointment tool) to prompt prospects to book a meeting right away.

Why:

It's the beginning of their client journey with the Financial Professional. This can provide the opportunity for the FP to engage with their prospect, discuss their Asset-Map, point out issues and solutions, and to provide them with their Asset-Map deliverable.

See more here: Post-Discovery Activities ↗️

Here's how:

Click onto the Team Settings ↗️ page, Discovery Settings section. Team Settings is found by clicking the advisor likeness in the upper right area. Enter a web address in the Discovery Redirect URL field. The prospect will be redirected immediately after completing the online interview. (Not available for Essentials subscribers. Learn more about upgrading here ↗️.)

⭐ Try this: Redirect to a client landing page

Set the Discovery redirect URL to a "client portal", "client landing page", or a "client journey page" that you've created and is designed to share with client resources, next steps, valuable links, blog posts and more.

⭐ Try this: Set yourself a reminder

Take note of when a Discovery interview is started by setting yourself a calendar reminder to check in on the status of the Discovery prior to its 14-day link expiration date. Don't let it expire! If it gets close to expiring and your client or prospect hasn't started or finished their interview, use the "copy link" button to send them a gentle reminder.

Why:

Communicate your concern for their financial well-being. A follow-up reminder email could be the ticket to them completing their interview and starting their precious, long-term relationship with you.

Here's how:

The Discovery Administration page displays when a Discovery interview was created. Check the invitation table for created date, last modified date, current status, and percent completed.

Manually create a reminder in your calendar or reminder program to check on the interview status. If incomplete, send an email reminder to finish their Asset-Map before it expires. Include thier invitation link by clicking the Send Discovery icon to grab their link.

⭐ Try this: Inbound link in email signature

Include your Inbound Discovery link in your default email signature when replying to any "contact us" inquiries from your website. (Not available for Essentials subscribers. Learn more about upgrading here ↗️.)

Why:

If compliance approved, make your Inbound link available in as many places as practical, like your email signature, on your website, and on other marketing materials.

Additional pro tip: We even provide a QR code rendition of your link to use anywhere you find appropriate!

Here's how:

  • Check out this sample advisor website ↗️ for ideas!

  • Grab your Inbound link QR code from the Discovery administration page. Click the QR code icon and use the image in your marketing tools:

⭐ Try this: QR code on marketing materials

A lot of Financial Professionals are getting back into the seminar scene. Put the QR code of your Inbound link on:

  • A big poster board in the front or back of the room

  • Or on the last slide of a seminar presentation

  • Or on your business card that get handed to everyone in the room

Why:

It's an easy way to get the Discovery fact-finding tool in front of a larger crowd of prospects.

⭐ Try this: Include a sample Asset-Map or Asset-Map marketing in your invitation

Add an illustrative resource to your Discovery invitation email. Utilize the free Asset-Map marketing flyer or marketing video in the Discovery email itself. Attach the flyer or simply copy and paste whatever language from the flyer into the email that helps frame your process and their Asset-Map. Or, attach a Sample report or insert a screenshot of a Sample Asset-Map.

Additional Pro tip: our marketing materials are PDF files. Add your logo using Powerpoint.

Why:

Improve the completion rates! Once the prospect or client knows what they get out of the Discovery process it could inspire them to enter their data.

Here's how:

  • Check out our No-Cost marketing materials here ↗️. Include some in your invitation email.

  • Search for the word "sample" in the Household Search field. Download and attach a demographic sample befitting the prospect.

Additional pro tip: the Samples are yours. Edit them as you desire. Run Target-Maps as you see fit.

⭐ Try this: Use Launch Now

Use the "Launch Now" feature via the Outbound option in place of taking notes on a yellow pad. You can go through Discovery fact-finding live with your clients and have their Asset-Map ready with them in the room.

Why:

A lot of FPs have data gathering as part of the first meeting (just like Doctor's offices!). So, instead of sending a Discovery invitation pre-meeting you can accomodate fact-finding right there in the office perfectly.

Here's how:

From the Discovery administration page, fill in the Outbound Recipient's Name field and click the Initiate Interview button. Click the Launch Now option and walk through the data gathering together. When complete, refresh your Discovery administration web page and click the Create icon to view their Household and Asset-Map!

⭐ Try this: Emphasize 14-day timeout and share with spouse in email

The Discovery link has a 14-day security timeout, at which point the interview link becomes inactive. It will show up as "closed" in the Discovery table.

Why:

It's important to set expectations for completing as much of the questionnaire as possible within a 14-day period. To that end, providing a proactive, helpful suggestion could go a long way to expedient completion and shows your concern.

Here's how:

Your email text may vary and may be subject to your compliance department, but try text that suggests their "... link will remain active for up to 14 days. Please complete your questionnaire before then and we'll have your Asset-Map ready for you. Don't forget to share your link with [your spouse] if you need to."

And, like once of the tips above suggests, set a reminder to yourself to send a nudge to your client before the 14-day timeout date.
