Managing Household Information and Settings

Overview

The Household Information section is the "backstage" of every client. While the Asset-Map itself is for the client conversation, this area is for the planner’s business intelligence.

The Household Information area is where you manage the 'behind-the-scenes' details of a household, from integration links to Client Portal permissions.

Access

Access the Household Information page by clicking the Household's name to open the Household Summary page. Then click the Edit link next to the household name.

Core Household Details

Details tab: Household Identity - Name, Address, Contact Information

This section defines how the household appears in your Household Index and on reports.

Household name: Appears on client facing reports and in your Household Index.

Address and Phone: Filling in these fields makes the household searchable and you can generate filters in your Household Index based on this information (such as State, City, Country etc).

Currency: Set this currency to change the default U.S. dollar value to the preferred local currency icon of the client.

Description: This field is populated by Discovery online interview. It shares what the client would like to discuss with the advisor. It can also be used by the advisor to include additional information. Use the formatting tools and link tool to link out to outside resources.

Integrations & Financial Experience

Manage integration connections with the household

As integrations are turned on and linked to a household from the Asset-Map Integrations page, its tab appears in the Household Information area. Click the corresponding integration's tab to administrate household member connections.

Document the client's financial experience (Investor Profile)

Document high level information about the client's financial experiences. Please refer to this resource for details: Investor Profile Page.

Client Engagement (Managing the Client Portal)

One of the most important functions of this page is managing the Client Portal links.

  • The "Invite" Button: Use this to grant clients digital access to their own Asset-Map.

  • Set Permissions: You can control whether a client has "Read-Only" access or if they are allowed to enter their own data via the Discovery tool.

  • Stop Sharing: You can control the access to the household using this tool.

Please refer to this resource for details: Administrate Client Portal Links

Administrative Settings (Privacy, Deleting, Household Type Status)

Household Type Status: Use the status tags to set the household type. Please refer to the following resource for details: Household Status Types

Privacy: Hide the household from a delegate's view. Checking this box removes the household from the household index your delegate sees. When household sharing is activated between advisors, this feature is inactive.

Delete Household: You can delete the household from your book of business by clicking into the household and using the Delete function. Please refer to this resource for details: How do I Delete or Restore (Undelete) a Household?

Restore Deleted Items: Deleted financials and members may be restored from this page for up to 30 days. Think of it as the "undo" button just in case.
