You've given the client a head start by bringing over assets and some other information that you already know about from an integration. So, how can a client add or update their map so that I learn more about them to really make our client meetings great?
Option 1 - Offer them Client Portal.
Explanation: After applying a Stencil, set up the client with their client portal placed in Suggesting mode. Clients cannot change their map. They can make suggestions on what should be changed using their Client Portal access. An advisor is notified and either accepts or rejects the changes.
Instructions
Apply a stencil. You already know some of the client's financials but you desire to learn more. Prompt the client by placing conversation tiles on their incomplete map by applying a "Stencil."
Click the Actions menu or right click (alt click) on the Asset-Map.
Hover over the "Stencils" option.
Click "Apply Stencil"
Click the Gen (X) Multi-member stencil or Traditional Fact-Finder stencil.
Click "Apply Stencil." This adds a number of $1 conversation tiles which the client can edit.
Generate their client portal setup link.
Click on the client avatar in the middle of the Asset-Map or on the name of the client on the Relationship page. (Support link)
Click the "Share" client portal icon (curved arrow) or click the Client Portal page.
Choose the "Suggesting" permission set. (Support link)
Click "Create Invite."
Copy the generated link and paste it into an email you will send.
Send their link using your email system (Support link)
Get them off to a good start with a good introduction email. An introduction email might include the following text (the text below is provided as a starting point to generate ideas.) Please follow your organization's compliance rules for client engagement:

Option 2 - Email a PDF report to them.
Apply a Stencil, generate a comprehensive report from the Reports page and email the client asking them to fix what's wrong and fill in what's missing.

Click the "Generate Comprehensive Report" button. This produces a PDF that you can attach to an email to your client.
Email their First Asset-Map
You've created a current client's Asset-Map. It's time to send them a copy. Compose an email to your client, who is unfamiliar with Asset-Map, to introduce them to their first view of their organized financial life.
📝Note: For use when you've created a client's map manually within our system. You do this when you already know something about your client but desire to learn more about them and/or wish to reengage with them. Typically, you would apply a relevant Stencil overlay, which adds gray question tiles to the map. Prompt the user to contact you to fix and fill in their information.
Dear [Client Name],
I have taken the liberty of creating your personal Asset-Map for your family and attaching it to this email/letter. It is a visual inventory of all of the financial elements of your household that I/we know about. The map helps us to determine how best to coordinate and complement what you are already doing and also to help educate your household to make better financial decisions going forward.
Please take a moment to print this, mark your corrections, and send it back to me. Or, email me your changes, and I will take the time to get your Asset-Map Report clean and more accurate for our future conversations. An accurate Asset-Map Report will also enable me to bring more appropriate and relevant ideas and strategies to your table as I become aware of them.
Please reach out to me if you have questions. I will ask my team to schedule a 30-minute review to make sure we are on the same page.
Sincerely,
[Financial Professional Name]
