Understanding the roles and permissions Asset-Map users have provides insights to what authorizations are available and what they do.
Advisor Role
Maintains client, prospect, sample, and stencil household information in Asset-Map Platform. The Advisor's name is on the Comprehensive Report. The advisor role may also have the ability to be a Team Manager (account owner) and Billing Manager. The advisor role requires a seat license. An Advisor cannot be a delegate.
When given authority by the Team Manager, an Advisor may have the ability to customize the Asset-Map report in various ways. This is helpful if the Advisor uses a DBA. Customizations would be found on the User Preferences page for the Advisor and they include priveleges to edit:
Disclosure and disclaimer. |
Discovery disclaimer. |
Discovery redirect link. |
Disable the inbound (lead generation) link. |
Update the firm logo for themselves. |
Delegate Role
Those with the Delegate designation have the following abilities and options:
Supports the advisor and can add/edit/update client data in Asset-Map Platform by impersonating their assigned advisor.
They can manage the advisor's Household Index and view/edit households except those labeled as "private" by the Advisor.
Delegates cannot delete a household from the advisor's account.
Cannot connect integrations with the advisor's credentials.
A delegate has their own independent log-in credentials to the system.
The delegate role is the only role a Delegate can have.
A delegate seat is invoiced to the account owner at a price lower than an advisor seat.
A Delegate can manage multiple advisors assigned to them. Click on the desired advisor's avatar on the delegate log-in screen (the change user role screen) to impersonate the desired advisor.
Switch advisors by clicking the delegate profile in the upper right area to return to the advisor selection page.
Billing Manager
The Billing Manager handles payment information, new user set-up and change of address updates. A Billing Manager can download and view invoices. The Billing Manager Role does not require a paid seat license.
Team Manager
Team Manager has the ability:
To add or remove advisors, delegates, and billing managers from the account. Additional seat licenses are required for additional delegates and advisors.
Team Managers can purchase seats and assign them.
Team Managers can assign delegates to advisors.
Team Managers can also take on the Advisor and Billing Manager roles.
Team managers can adjust the following organizational parameters as well as allow additional features that their advisors can utilize:

Allows permissions for other advisors to customize their settings (see Advisor Role). |
Set Organization Logo. |
Set Discovery Disclaimer. |
Set Discovery re-direct page after Discovery has been completed. |

When the setting is enabled for the organization, Team manager can transfer households between advisors within the organization. |
The Team Manager role does not require a seat license and though is typically assigned to the purchaser of the account, does not necessarily have to be the purchaser of the account.
