How do I run a Target-Map goal funding report?

You want to verify the levels of funding goals for the client based on the financials they have on their Asset-Map. There are multiple convenient locations from within a household to do this.

Click the Actions Menu found on the left side household navigation menu.

Click the Target-Map icon on the Sidebar while on the Asset-Map.

Click the New Target-Map button on the Household's Summary page.

Expand a Signal to view an option to run an associated Target-Map.

Click the Target-Map page on the household navigation menu.

Target-Map Notes

Don't forget to add Notes to the specific Target-Map to keep track of key changes or thoughts. They can be output as a single page of notes along with your other notes or optionally included in a comprehensive report.

Good to Know

  • The Education Target-Maps pick list will display members designated with the "Dependent" checkbox on the member's edit window.

  • Retirement Target-Maps will list a primary and spouse together, meaning the Target-Map will use the funding resources of both to help pay for the desired retirement funding need. Selecting one member will utilize only that person's resources.

  • A Retirement Target-Map does not assess expenses on an Asset-Map. To determine living expenses, the retirement target-map takes a percentage of the client's earned incomes to generate a value with the expectation that the advisor will customize the amount in conversation with the client. The percentage taken is set within your Target-Map Preferences.

  • Loss of Life suggests capital requirements for the survivor(s) by selecting the decedent from the pick list.

  • By design, Target-Maps are independent from one another. Funding used by one Target-Map is not automatically removed from other Target-Maps.

  • Target-Maps are generated using your Target-Map Preferences. Yet Target-Maps are meant to be fully editable to refine the result.
