Discovery Interview is an online client/prospect financial fact finder which, when completed, creates a Household and Asset-Map in the advisor's book of business.

Additionally, there are two main types of Discovery links in Asset-Map: Inbound and Outbound. Understanding the differences between these types can help you effectively collect and manage client information.

The inbound link is used primaily to take in Leads from an advisor's business web page, for use in social media marketing or other similar engagement opportunities where the prospect name is not necessarily known by the advisor. Please check with your compliance department before using this tool.

In contrast, Outbound links are used for targeted client engagement and can be customized for individual recipients. This distinction can influence how you approach client communication and data collection.

If you don't have the inbound link and would like to get it, consider upgrading your subscription.

Understanding the Different Types of Discovery Links

To maximize the effectiveness of your Discovery efforts, it is essential to understand when and how to use Inbound and Outbound Discovery links. These options allow for tailored client engagement based on the scenario.

To find Your Inbound Link go to your Discovery administration page.

Look for the Inbound section on the Discovery administration page.

Use your Inbound Link

Make sure to align your choice of link with your intended application. For broad lead generation, opt for Inbound links. For personalized interactions, Outbound links are more appropriate.

  • Use it to create an Asset-Map with the prospect right in your office.

  • We provide a QR code option. Click the QR code icon and download the image. It can be used as for your marketing resources.

  • Once the client clicks on your link, a Household-specific link is created with which they will being filling out their Discovery. This new link has a security time out, typically 14 days (but may be regulated by your firm to be more or less).

  • During this time, prior to the household-specific link timeout, you have the capability of copying their household link to send it to the client if they've lost it. However, after the security timeout date the household link is closed.

  • You will be able to see the completion percentage of their household interview and decide to create a map of it.

  • Use your inbound link within your email signature if your firm's compliance allows it. Copy your inbound link and, using your email program's URL link option, highlight specific words (or apply and highlight a get started button found in our no-cost marketing materials and enter your particular inbound link. Please see your IT department for particulars on how to add links to your disclaimer for your particular email software.

Copying and Emailing Your Link to a Prospect

Asset-Map does not send Discovery emails to your prospects or clients. Below is a helpful email template to introduce Discovery and Asset-Map to a prospect. Please copy and save it to your email software, and ensure it meets your compliance guidelines. Adjust it to your liking as you see fit.

๐Ÿ“Note: Attach a sample to the email.

Dear [Prospect Name if known],

I have taken the liberty of attaching a one-page visual inventory of all the financial elements of a Sample household. Take a look. A visual map like this helps me to determine how best to coordinate and complement what a client is already doing and helps to educate a household to make better financial decisions going forward.

I use this tool as my client meeting agenda. Therefore, I would like you to create your own map!

Don't worry about details. Just use round numbers and best estimates and we will refine your map when we meet. An accurate Asset-Map Report will enable me to bring more appropriate and relevant ideas and strategies to your table as I become aware of them.

Please reach out to me if you have questions. Iโ€™d like to schedule a visit with you at this time.

Sincerely,

[Financial Professional Name]

QR Code

The Inbound link, can be represented as a QR code which you can download and use on a web page, on your business card, or within other lead generating media. The propsect can scan it to get started and complete it right on their mobile device.

The client starts the interview by clicking your inbound link (or that scans your QR code) generates a different link that is specific to them. You are able to resend their specific household link by clicking the Send Discovery arrow icon associated with their entry on the Discovery table. This household link will expire in 14 days.

  • Start a new Discovery Interview - click the Open New icon.

  • Copy your inbound link - click the Copy button and pasting it within emails, signatures, and web pages, to name a few options.

  • Create a QR code - click the QR icon to download a PNG image for use in your marketing materials.

Note: Check with your firm's compliance department for appropriate use.

Inbound Link Notifications

Notifications will be sent to you from our platform via email when someone has clicked your inbound link. You will also be notified when a household interview has been started, when it has expired (closed), and when it has been completed. Notifications are also visible via the bell icon on the platform pages. You may add or remove notifications. Follow this link to administrate your notifications.
