Overview
Discovery Interview is an online tool designed to collect information that, once completed, creates a new household and Asset-Map within the advisor's Household Index.
The Outbound Discovery link can be utilized when the advisor wants to generate a specific link for a known client or prospect. This link allows for multiple edits, as it is tailored to a particular household. Consequently, while the outbound link remains active for up to 14 days, the client can revisit their interview to update their information. Please note: the outbound link can no longer be accessed once the client reaches the end of the survey.
Additionally, you can send or resend the outbound link for up to 14 days after it has been created, if necessary. After 14-days the link will expire, and the client will no longer be able to access the interview. In that case, follow the suggestions on this resource.
Create the Link
Navigate to the Discovery administration page.
Enter a client or prospect name in the Recipient Name field. Name length cannot be above 32 characters.
Click the "Initiate Interview" button.

Option 1: The Email button.
The email button provides a convenient means to open your system's default email program and copy our default text with the client's Discovery link pre-populated. The advisor can paste the copy into the advisor's email to their client.
Our default text is a general suggestion only, and the financial professional is advised to use language that is in line with their compliance department. Our system text cannot be changed. Customization must be done by the advisor in their email to the client. Here is our suggested email text:

The following interview questionnaire will help me understand your current financial state. Please take a few minutes to complete this to the best of your ability while the link remains "live." My interview will ask high-level questions about the important people in your life, your current financial decisions, and any topics you would like to discuss with our team.

Please note this link will expire in 14 days, and you can share it selectively with others that need to contribute.
Option 2: Copy their link

Should you choose to copy just the link and send the link through email, use the Copy Link option and paste the link into the email you are composing.
If our default email text is too general and not usable, here are a few suggestions. To create a persuasive email that will motivate a potential client to complete the entire Discovery online interview, please refer to the provided email template below. Make any necessary adjustments to match your personal style and ensure it meets all compliance requirements.

I am using a tool that provides a visual representation of your financial decisions. It will become our ongoing meeting agenda with which we can discuss your situation and options.
This shouldn't take you more than 10–15 minutes. Please use round numbers and rough estimates. I just want to get a foundation for your household's current situation. During our meeting, we'll build on this foundation together and have a comprehensive visualization on one page. You can use the navigation buttons at the bottom of each page to add, remove, or correct your entries, but please remember that there is a 14-day security timeout after which the interview is closed. Option 3: Launch
You can launch the interview right away while you are with the client or if you wish to begin entering information about the client yourself to give them a headstart.
⭐Top Tips
Attach a sample Asset-Map or marketing materials in your invitation. This can help the prospect understand the value of completing the Discovery process. You can find no-cost marketing materials to include in your invitation email here. Select an appropriate sample by searching for the word "sample" in the Household Search field. Then download and attach the sample to your email.
Track the status of the interview in the tracking table. Set yourself a reminder to reach out to them if they have not completed their map in a few days.
Note that when the client completes their Discovery interview, it cannot be reopened.
