In the Asset-Map software, Discovery links facilitate client or prospect data collection by providing client-specific or public links for interviews and information gathering. This article explains the purpose of Inbound and Outbound Discovery links and provides recommendations for when to use each type.
Introduction to Discovery
Discovery is a tool within the Asset-Map application designed to collect information efficiently from clients or prospects via an engaging online interview. Each type of Discovery link has a unique purpose tailored to specific use scenarios. Discovery is only designed to create new households. Do not use Discovery to update household information.
Inbound Discovery Link
An Inbound Discovery link is the advisor's public, reusable link intended for wide distribution. This link is ideal for lead generation activities. For instance, it can be shared:
On public platforms such as your website or social media.
Via general email campaigns or other broad outreach efforts.
Each time an Inbound Discovery link is clicked by a prospect, a new interview is created. This interview has its own unique household-specific link. If the client needs their household-specific link, you can copy it for sending using the share household link icon on the Discovery administration page.
Outbound Discovery Links
Outbound Discovery links are designed for one-to-one use and create a unique, persistent interview link for each specific recipient. These links are most suitable when you already have the contact information of a client or prospect. The recipient can:
Reopen the link multiple times within the allowed security timeframe unless they get to the end of the interview and click “All Done.”
When you need to gather the information from a specific person or household send a Discovery link directly to that client or prospect using the Outbound Discovery link option for personalized data gathering.
When to Use Each Type
Inbound Discovery Links: Use for general marketing, lead generation, or when addressing a broad audience with whom you don’t yet have specific contact details.
Outbound Discovery Links: Use for targeted interactions with known contacts.
By understanding the distinctions and use cases for each type of Discovery link, you can optimize your workflows and improve client engagement.
