If you have created Target-Maps, they will be placed on the Target-Map Summary page for the Household. At a glance you and the client will be able to have a conversation about the household priorities based on need and time, then dig into each Target-Map to solve problems or update information by clicking its edit option. The Target-Map Summary page is an optional page to include in an electronic version of the Asset-Map Report. Target-Maps are an effective way to discuss progress and priorities towards savings goals. On this page, each Target-Map is viewed at a summary level. Editing a Target-Map provides a view with greater detail.

Access

Access this page from multiple places.

  • From the Household tools menu

  • From the Household Summary page, on the Target-Maps panel, click the 3-dot icon.

Page Features

  • New Target-Map button: Create a Target-Map from one of 6 presets or a Target-Map template you can save.

  • Settings: A window to change a Target-Map's:

    • Title

    • Duration of years

    • Expected net return on capital

    • Annual increase of contributions

  • Edit: view and edit Target-Map details

  • Double-click the title of a Target-Map to edit the title directly without opening the Settings window.

  • Single-click the title to view and edit Target-Map details. It's like clicking the Edit icon.

  • Clone (duplicate) a Target-Map for scenarios

  • Create a PDF of a Target-Map

  • Delete a Target-Map

  • Rearrange Target-Maps by clicking and dragging. (The electronic version will print the Target-Maps in the order you have placed them.)

Remember that default Target-Maps are created based on templates we have provided to you. They are using the default Target-Map Preferences. You may adjust Target-Map default settings on the Target-Map Preferences page to apply to new Target-Maps you create.

Easy to Read Overview of Goals

  • Title of the Target-Map.

  • Percent funded towards the savings goal today.

  • A colored bar indicating the percent funded today.

  • Expected Net Return on Capital of investable assets over the length of the project (also considered as the Discount Rate), net of taxes and fees. This represents the average of returns of investible assets being applied to fund the project.

  • Present Capital Deficit (or Surplus if the goal is over funded) in estimated dollars today.

  • Additional Contributions to Fund per month today to solve the deficit. This also shows a monthly overage if there is a surplus.

  • Annual Increase of Contributions. This affects the Additional Contributions to Fund amount. Zero percent indicates a flat monthly additional amount needed to save. A different percentage indicates today's amount of additional funding needed to save will increase by that percent each year. This is often used to accommodate for inflation.

  • Duration of contributions. This displays either the length of the project in years, or the amount of years until the project begins, depending on the Target-Map template used. 0.0 years indicates now.
